Extra protection against blustery wind, cold, or deep powder is a welcome option on all our on-mountain jackets. The powder skirt is a waterproof section of elasticized fabric at the bottom of a jacket above the hem and includes a gripper elastic bottom to create a snug barrier around your waist.
Do you really need a powder skirt?
Powder skirts are good at keeping you warm when it's really cold as they trap the air around your torso well. They don't really keep an awful lot of powder out if you properly bin it though. They certainly aren't essential.
